while teaching xth class CBSE mathematics i have noticed that atleast 30- 40% of the time is spent by the teacher in writing on the board ( black/white) while explaining a concept. During this time the eye-contact with the student is missed. And this could lead to wavering of concentration especially amongst not so attentive students. And to bring them back into the loop would be very time consuming disturbing the other committed students. But this time can be reduced - can't be fully avoided - with the help of Power Point presentations. All concepts, the problem itself, and the explanation of a solution can be pre-arranged in slide form which can be great teachi   ...

The Board Examinations are a nightmare for students who are going to appear for the same. The CBSE is a large body that conducts these examinations. CBSE stands for Central Board of Secondary Education. CBSE Papers are not very tough. But it does not mean that without any studies you can just sway the wand and clear it all. However, if your preparations are proper then of course you can perform in a better way. The best way for cracking CBSE 10thas well as CBSE 12th Boards Examinations is through thorough practise of and solving of as many Question Papers as possible of previous years across all subjects. The sample of these question papers are available online. S   ...

Diwali, a significant festival in Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and happiness in every part of India. This festival is known as the victory of good over evil. In Sanskrit, the word 'Deepawali' means an array of lights that basically signify the victory of brightness over darkness. On this festival, we worship the goddess of Laxmi who is a symbol of prosperity. That day, people wear new clothes, share sweets with each other and light firecrackers. We celebrate the festival diwali for various reasons. In many parts of India, Diwali is celebrated for the homecoming of God Rama after a 14-year exile in the forest as   ...

The education department of school has decided to join hands with the department of environment  for campaigning an environment-friendly  Diwali. Since a large number of offenders are the children of school, the education department feels that schools can play an instrumental role to minimize noise pollution. This department also wants the involvement of teachers in the crusade for a Diwali sans noise. For this, teachers should discuss the reason with their students behind the state-wise ban on fireworks which produce sound in excess of 90 decibels. It is mentioned in a circular meant for all school heads.  This circular should reach schools by the end   ...

In the (new)grading system, I will have to constantly monitor myself and be on tenterhooks all the time." There are about eight lakh CBSE students to be given the option of not writing the boards of Class X from the year 2011, as it has announced by Union Human Resources Development minister Kapil Sibal some days before. E-learning (or sometimes Electronic Learning or eLearning) is a term which is commonly used, but minus a common definition. Most frequently it seems to be used for web-based distance education, with no face-to-face interaction. But it has much broader meaning. It includes all types of technology-enhanced learning (TEL), where technology is used to support the learning process. Although pedagogy is usually not part of the definition, some authors do include it. For example in this definition, where e-learning is said to be: "pedagogy empowered by digital technology". It is important to realize that the term e-learning is completely ambiguous since there are   ...
