a block of mass 'M' is kept on a rough horizontal surface. The coefficient of static friction between the block and surface is 'u'. The block is to be pulled by applying a force to it. What minimum force is needed to slide the block ? in which direction should the force act?

The required minimum force is    at an angle  to the block with respect to ground.

plzz see the attachment....ignore the point of application of force of friction as it must be between the surfaces .ignore other small noticeable cut-marks too.
