The class X English paper may have been easy but students created a ruckus claiming that two sections were missing from the question paper. At the end of the examination, students complained that the question paper did not have all the four sections.
Students complained that they did not find two sections in the question paper as mentioned on the first page. As per board regulations, the question paper must carry the four sections-A, B, C, D. However, sections C and D were reported to be missing. This created a lot of confusion among the students.
It was later revealed that unlike sections A and B, sections C and D did not have a title at the top. This created confusion as students did not realise whether they should continue writing on the same page or start writing from the fresh page. The sections divide the question according to marks but the lack of the labeling created confusion.
The supervisor, Lakshmi Iyer, said, "The paper had all the questions. Only the section labeling was missing. When I counted the marks of those unlabelled questions, they were appropriate. So I instructed the students to continue writing the paper."
Maulik Shukla, a teacher, said, "Yes, section C and D were not mentioned at the top of the paper. It did confuse the students for a while."
Sohini Shah, a parent, said, "We train our kids as per the style of board exams. My son had revised with the previous year papers for the paper-writing method. Now when such mistake takes place, it creates trouble for students during the exams. It eats into precious time of the child."
